Have you ever looked at someone’s LinkedIn Profile and wanted to contact them, only to find that you can only see their first name and last initial? And what if they don’t have an e-mail address visible, either?

If you’ve been using LinkedIn as a resource to find hiring managers, recruiters, potential clients and/or business partners, chances are you’ve run into this problem more than once.

And, it goes both ways!  Recruiters, hiring managers, clients and/or customers may find you on LinkedIn and not be able to contact you because your full name isn’t displayed.  Don’t leave a possible “Romeo” with a sweet job offer or plum assignment hanging!

If your goal is to be found on LinkedIn (by recruiters, hiring managers, clients, or business partners) eliminate all possible barriers!  Put your full name and e-mail address in your Headline, Summary section and Specialties section so that people who are looking at your LinkedIn Profile will know exactly whose profile they are looking at.

Decide where you want to include your name. For example, if you want to add it to your Summary section, scroll down to Summary and click “edit”.

It’s up to you how you want to include your name, but here’s how I did it:

Et voila! Mission complete! You are now more accessible to recruiters, hiring mangers, clients, business partners, job applicants, etc.

In the next post, I’ll show you how to tackle this issue from the opposite side of the road – how to dig up someone’s full name if you can only see their first name and last initial. Job applicants, you won’t want to miss this!
