Here’s the problem:  you work hard all year, but does your CEO and/or company Leadership know about your accomplishments?  And, if the top leaders in your company don’t know what you’re accomplishing for the company, are you getting the best shot at promotion that you could?

Fortunately, LinkedIn™ gives you a way to enhance your “Personal Brand” within your company by keeping top leaders, colleagues, staff members, and customers abreast of your accomplishments.

As long as you are connected to the Leaders in your Company on LinkedIn, you can just update your LinkedIn Profile with your latest accomplishments at least monthly or quarterly and your LinkedIn Connections will be notified that you have updated your Profile through the Weekly LinkedIn Status Update E-Mail.

Don’t forget to add Courses you’ve completed, new job titles, white papers or articles you’ve had published (you can add a Publications section for this), and awards you’ve received.  And don’t forget to update your Summary and Specialties section, as well as your Job Experience section, as you gain new skills or assume new responsibilities.

Here’s another tip:  you can write LinkedIn Status Updates about milestones you’ve achieved or projects you’ve completed to further enhance your “Personal Brand” and create awareness.

And, for the advanced user, you can add presentations to your LinkedIn Profile with the Google Presentations application.

Who’d have thought that Social Networking Online could help you get considered for a new position, within your company?  Now that’s a savvy use of LinkedIn for Business!!!!
